UPCC - ACCESS FUND - OTTAWA NATIONAL FOREST CONSERVATION PROJECT

Help update the Climber Access Trail at Silver Mountain!
With support from Athletic Brewing Company, the Ottawa National Forest, and generous fundraising efforts, the Upper Peninsula Climbers Coalition (UPCC) has partnered with the Access Fund Conservation Team to improve climber access at Silver Mountain.
Trail Work Dates: October 2 – October 19
We’ll be building a sustainable climber access trail and constructing new belay platforms, stairs, and retaining walls—but we need your help to make it happen!
Volunteer Info
Volunteers of all skill levels are welcome! This is a great way to give back to the climbing community, learn trail-building skills, and spend time outdoors with a good crew.
Sign Up: Link at Bottom of Page
Come for a day or a few hours—every bit helps!
Camping: Free camping is available at the crag. There will also be time for climbing during off hours! However, climbing is not guided or facilitated by the UPCC or Access Fund.
What to Bring
  • Closed-toe shoes (hiking boots or work shoes recommended)
  • Work gloves
  • Sunscreen & bug spray
  • Plenty of water (there is no water source on site)
  • Lunch/snacks/food for the day
  • Rain gear/layers (October weather can be unpredictable)
Facilities: A portable toilet is available on site.
Thank you for supporting access and stewardship in the UP climbing community. Let’s build something lasting at Silver Mountain!
