Slug Fest is BACK and it is going to be bigger and better!
Registration includes Slug Bluff Koozie!, Slug Fest Sticker, Clinics, Dyno Comp, shoe demo, yoga, camping, access to vendor village, and other activities. Camping on site will be limited to the first 150 people that select camping as part of registration. If we exceed that number of campers, we will work on alternate locations!
This event is a fundraiser to support UP Climbing. In the spirit of a fundraiser, registration is not refundable. If the weather isn't conducive to climbing, we will still have camping, clinics, silent auction, frivolity, and plenty of other activities.
If you register and cannot attend, and if you purchased a shirt or poster, we will be happy to mail them to you, or they can be picked up from Down Wind Sports.
You need to register by September 1 for your shirt to be guaranteed ready at Slug Fest registration. Those registering after September 1, may have to receive the shirt by picking it up at a Down Wind Sports location (or you can pay to have it mailed!).

- Sport Anchor Cleaning (2 hour Clinic. Meet at UPCC Tent)
- Women's Learn to Sport Climb (6 Hour Clinic! Participants will meet at UPCC Tent and then carpool/caravan about 30 minutes to Sunset Gully. Participants will provide their own transportation)
- Intro to Sport Climbing (6 Hour Clinic! Participants will meet at UPCC Tent and then carpool/caravan about 20 minutes to Trashcan Rock. Participants will provide their own transportation)
- How to build Top Rope Anchors Utilizing Trees (3 hour Clinic. Meet at UPCC Tent)
- Self Rescue Part One: Mechanical Advantage (3 Hour Clinic. Participants will meet at UPCC Tent and then carpool/caravan/walk about 1 mile to Isabella. Participants will provide their own transportation).

- How to Rappel Utilizing Extensions and Backups (3 Hour Clinic. Meet at UPCC Tent)
- Learn the Basics of Installing Mechanical Bolts. Participants will help install practice anchors. (2 Hour Clinic. Meet at UPCC Tent)

- Learn How to Belay From Above (2 Hour Clinic. Meet at UPCC Tent).
- Self Rescue Part Two: How to Escape from a belay and Transfer Loads. (3 Hour Clinic! Participants will meet at UPCC Tent and then carpool/caravan/walk about 1 mile to Isabella. Participants will provide their own transportation).
- Knots and Hitches for Climbers (2 hours. Meet at UPCC Tent).
- Crack Climbing Clinic. (4 Hours. Participants will meet at UPCC tent and then carpool/caravan to a hidden crack climb (about 15 minute drive).

PARTICIPANT AGREEMENT AND WAIVER
In consideration of the opportunity to participate in SLUG FEST, I hereby agree to the following Waiver and Release of Liability:
1. Waiver and Release of Liability:
My participation in Slug Fest is voluntary and subjects me to the possibility of physical or mental/emotional injury. Accordingly, I agree to the following:
a. I hereby release and hold harmless the UPCC, its Board Members and Volunteers, the Cade, Yoop Dog Yoga, Down Wind Sports, Michigan Ice Fest, all participating vendors/reps/guides/instructors and all of the above’s officers, directors, employees, agents, volunteers, and contractors (collectively, Releasees) from any claim arising from, related to, or resulting from my attendance at Slug Fest, including those caused by the negligent acts or omissions of any or all of the Releasees.
b. I recognize the physical exertion involved in rock climbing, yoga, camping, and other outdoor activities and attest and certify that I am physically fit to participate safely. I also recognize that rock climbing and its related activities are inherently dangerous. These dangers include, but are not limited to, falling, rock fall, failure of anchors, uneven ground, wild animals and insects, inclement weather, etc. I still wish to participate fully aware of the inherent risks involved.
c. As between each of the Releasees and me, I will be solely responsible for any and all medical and related bills that I may incur because of any injury that I may sustain as a result of my participation in Slug Fest, including those sustained on the premises where Slug Fest is conducted.
d. If Participant is a minor, my guardian has completed this purchase and agrees to indemnify and hold Releasees harmless for any claims asserted on behalf of minor as a mandatory condition for minor being allowed to participate in Slug Fest.
2. General Provisions:
a. I hereby expressly agree that this Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the state of Michigan and any action or proceeding concerning any claim against Releasees shall be conducted only in Marquette County District or Circuit Court. Any claim arising from Slug Fest shall be brought within 1 year of the alleged tortious act.
b. This Agreement contains the entire understanding between and among the parties concerning these matters. Any waiver or modification must be in writing.
c. I hereby expressly agree that if any portion of this Agreement is held invalid, the balance of the Agreement shall nonetheless continue in full legal force and effect.
I have read and understand this Agreement. By submitting this transaction, I agree to be bound by this Agreement.
