UPCC Kid Climbing Program

The UPCC is excited to announce that we are now offering a kid climbing program. This is made possible in collaboration with Michigan Ice Fest Guides! So here is how it works. Michigan Ice Fest operates a guiding service, which normally costs $200/day per student.
However, as supporters of youth climbing, Michigan Ice Fest is partnering with the UPCC to offer this program at super reduced rates. The cost is $70 per student, AND the UPCC will cover half of that. So, the cost for each student is only $35/day! This includes certified and insured climbing instructors and all gear! This is a great way for kids to learn how to safely rock and ice climb, gain confidence, and make some friends!

This program is being administered by our Volunteer Coordinator-Annika! Annika is from Stevens Point, WI and graduated from NMU with a degree in Outdoor Recreation Leadership and Management. She spent the last four years guiding and directing youth backpacking, climbing, and caving trips in the heart of Appalachia. Along with working for Down Wind Sports and Michigan Ice Fest, she enjoys organic farming, crafts, and her cats. Annika is a certified climbing instructor through the AMGA! If you have questions about the program, you can email Annika at [email protected].

The best way to stay up to date on upcoming trips is to follow our social media!
