AAA WALL - Partnership with Longyear
This is the UPCC Origin story! The Historic AAA Wall was closed to climbing by the landowner around 2013. The UPCC was formed to get this area reopened.
With your help, climbing is permitted at the AAA Wall and Secret Crag as a partnership with Longyear Realty Corporation, Upper Peninsula Climbers Coalition, and the Access Fund. Thanks to the support of Longyear, UPCC has entered into a recreational license to allow public access for the primary purpose of rock climbing. To assure climbing at the AAA the UPCC spear heads fundraising each year to purchase insurance. If you would like more information on how you can help please contact us!
Enjoy your day of climbing and please follow these rules:
Access is a privilege; help us maintain this renewable annual license by complying with all rules above.
Public access is offered in accordance with Michigan’s Recreational User Statute (MCL Section 324.73301). These hazards include, but are not limited to: steep unguarded cliffs; slippery surfaces; steep and unmaintained trails and roadways; loose and unstable rocks and ice; falling objects; natural hazards; the possible failure of fixed climbing anchors; and the conduct of other users.
